Compatibility with cleanroom system

Since Asahi motor rollers generate virtually no dust particles,
they are most suitable for use in cleanrooms.

Most Suitable for Conveying Equipment in Cleanrooms

•Measurement data

7-1 Motor Roller (Catalog no.: 57S20-400-3-220-SP)

7-1. Motor Roller (Catalog no.: 50S15-400-3-220-SP)

•Observations

  • Measured figure 0 does not mean “no particles” but means that the number of dust particles is below the measuring limit.
  • The data below show how many dust particles workers wearing dust-free clothes generate. Since motor rollers generate far less dust than workers, the use of motor rollers for conveyance of workpieces is more desirable than when workers carry them.

  • Motor rollers mainly generate dust from the following parts:
    (1) worn rotating parts
    (2) motor (motor case, roller body)
    Measurement result: 0.1-0.2 particle (0.3 micron particle) (8.7-17.4 particles/min.)
  • It was suspected that the roller internal temperature rises due to roller rotation and the air expands with resulting dust generation. However the measurement result does not support this hypothesis. The roller surface temperatures are shown for reference. (The temperatures were measured after 10 min. continuous operation.)

•Conclusion

Motor rollers generate very few particles and are thus suitable for conveying equipment in cleanrooms.
